Information on Joining Woking Archery Club

Woking Archery Club is situated just outside the village of Wisley and close to the Royal Horticultural Gardens.  Joining Woking Archery Club is easy existing archers just need to do a simple assessment. New to archery no problem try our beginner’s course. The Club membership is close to 150 making it one of the largest target shooting clubs in the County.  We combine both serious competitive archery with recreational archery for people who want to enjoy shooting in a relaxed environment. We also have members representing Great Britain at senior level as well as juniors in Archery GB Development squads.

The club runs pre-booked beginners courses for those wishing to take up the sport and also welcomes visiting experienced archers. Age is no limit – we have archers from 7 to 80 and all bow types are shot. 

Competitions

For those that want, the Club hosts a number of competitions. A bi-annual County of Surrey Longbow shoot, Inter-County friendly shoots.
We also run our own competitions:
– the Woking Double a double 50, 60 ot 70 m rounds
– the Woking Open a York Hereford or Bristol rounds.

Access

We are lucky in having our own field, we are able to shoot seven days a week and have semi-permanent foam bosses.  All distances are available and the field is marked with both metric and imperial lines.

Looking at joining Woking Archery Club, our membership is open to all. If you are new to archery the club offers pre-booked beginners courses. It is a requirement that you complete a course before becoming a member.  Courses give a good grounding in all aspects of archery giving you plenty of opportunities to shoot while learning about safety and different types of bow.

Already an accomplished existing archer looking to join a club having moved to the area, drop us an email. We will normally ask you to come along and meet us so we can assess your ability to make sure your move to the club is smooth and ensure safety. Also visiting the area and can’t stand to miss your archery for the time your visiting, again drop us an email, so long as you are an AGB member then we will likely be able to assist.
