Despite our best intentions to try and avoid a class, we have been caught out by this year’s bike event slipping forward a week to coincide with our Club Shoot on Aug 2nd.

We will issue another reminder nearer the time too… ?

We couldn’t wait so we’ve pulled forward our pancake shoot from March 1st to Feb 15th

So put on your best woolly hats and scarves and come down for a quick Warwick before tucking into a pancake with friends!

Seven Woking AC archers competed in Guildford AC’s Fita 25 at the Spectrum on Sunday 18th Jan. Congratulations to the following:

• Eleanor Piper: 2nd (by just one point) in her first Senior Ladies competition (537)
• Louisa Piper: 1st Junior Lady (515)
• Simon Slade and Andy Hopkins both claimed their 500 Fita Star badges in the Gents Recurve
• Adrian James shot 547 in the Gents Compound
• Angus Wilson was in the top half of the table in the Gents Barebow
• Woking AC 3rd Recurve Team

But STAR of the day was definitely Sam Davies taking part in his very first Fita 25 and who was easily the smallest competitor present. Sam, you did Woking AC proud!

An excellent start to the year – well done all!

Well done to everyone who gave up time on Saturday for the working day. A huge amount was achieved with the 3rd drain started and completed along with the rear of the field looking much clearer and tidier.

Thank-you so much to everyone for all that was done, special thanks to Alan Ruffle who once again brought his mini digger meaning digging the ditch in a single day was realistic.

Wisley will be composting on the following Tues – Thurs:
3rd, 4th, 5th February
10th, 11th 12th February

The field will be closed until 4.30pm on these days.

For those who have missed the email.

We have made the decision (after discussion with Wisley) to put in a third land drain at the field as the others are doing a good job. We are aiming to do this this Saturday 31st January, starting at 9:30 prompt.

Even if you can only help for some of the day it would be greatly appreciated. Please bring any gardening or digging tools you have along with you (we will also be clearing shrubs and bushes) and dress appropriately – wellies or sturdy boots please!
The kitchen will be operating to serve bacon rolls, soup, cakes and hot drinks throughout the day to keep the work party going.

Also, if you are a senior archer and you moved up a classification in 2014, you will be eligible for a classification badge.
